Life-Extension Projects

The cost of replacing a semi-trailer has increased significantly in recent years, while lead times for new equipment can still be lengthy. For operators with trailers that have a sound structural foundation, a well-planned refurbishment or life-extension project can provide many more years of reliable service at a fraction of the replacement cost.

We assess every trailer on its individual merits. If refurbishment represents the best long-term outcome, we'll recommend it. If further investment isn't economically justified, we'll tell you that too.

Can you modify a trailer for a different application?

Yes. Semi-trailer modifications are a regular part of our fabrication work. Whether you need a trailer reconfigured for a different load type, mounting points added or relocated, or structural modifications to suit new operational requirements, we can assess the trailer, engineer the solution where required and provide a detailed quotation.

Can you fabricate replacement parts that are no longer available?

Often, yes. For older semi-trailers where OEM parts are no longer available or are prohibitively expensive, we can assess whether fabricating a replacement component is a practical solution. This is particularly common on older trailer models where the original parts are no longer manufactured or readily available.

Do you carry out weld repairs on trailer chassis?

Yes. Structural weld repairs on trailer chassis and sub-frames are a core part of what we do. Before any welding takes place, we identify why the crack or failure occurred. Repairing the weld without addressing the underlying cause often leads to repeat failures, so our focus is on providing a repair that lasts.

Is welding and fabrication work covered by insurance?

It can be, depending on your policy and the nature of the damage. Where fabrication work forms part of an accident repair, we can include it in our insurance assessment and quotation. We're happy to provide the documentation your insurer requires.

How do I get a quote for fabrication work?

Simply send us photos together with a description of what you need. For more complex fabrication or engineering work, we'll usually inspect the trailer before preparing a quotation to ensure we fully understand the scope of work and provide an accurate assessment.
